New Boy

Hello Everybody!

I've joined this forum as I'm assuming I'm going to be needing lots of your help over the coming months.

Last night (rather foolishly??), I purchased a 1979 Beford CF250 with no tax or MOT, and a failure/advisory list longer than Rick Waller's shopping list! As I have little or no mechanical knowledge, and tight purse strings, I went to bed last night wondering what the hell I'd done.

I'm also now stuck with the odious task of transporting her from storage in West Sussex, up to my mechanic in Cambridgeshire (more money!!).

Here are some pictures that the seller put up if you fancy a butchers:

Promise to help me, and reassure me that everything is going to be ok??

Oh, and nice to 'meet' you all!!

Lloyd

Everything will be just fine.

Hi LloydieBoy,

You have not made a mistake you have made a lifetime commitment to a name that won the ground war of the early 1940's, and you are going to help keep it alive.
Apart from all that you have made a great first step in joining this Bedford owners club, there is a lot of very helpful and clever people on here.
So welcome, now what is your first problem?

Doug.

Thanks for your reply Mr Joyce. Once I get her home and to the test centre, I'll have a better idea of what needs doing - I'll be in touch!

Hello Lloydieboy,

Hows your typing? If its a long list of things that are wrong, list the things that are right instead. That will save you time which can then be used working on your CF.

Thought I'd just get in with the first bit of useful advice for you. After all, thats what we are good at (sometimes).

Welcome- you have passed the initiation rites properly by making the best purchasing decision in your life.
