Greenflag.
Hi to all,
A friend of mine left their lights on overnight and the battery was flat needless to say in the morning, call to greenflag and they boost start engine blowing computer protection fuse.
They then replace fuse with heavy fuse wire and car is back on the road, next morning car fails to start greenflag called out again boost starts engine and tests battery, says battery is U/S and tells friend to buy a new one.
Friend arived at my house last night having bought a new battery at a cost of £63.85 and asks if I would fit to car, new battery fitted and car starts first time.
I tested the old battery and found it holding 12v, so I put battery on to a discharge light for 24hours and so far it has not went flat, so today it will be tested under load demand for full 12v.
Alternator checked and tested output 14.5v and voltage drop to starter checked out ok, fault found after a number of common and known problem areas that should have been checked, heated rear screen fault draining battery over night.
Doug.
