Engine mod Hi all,just a quickie.Today (sunday) I have striped my top end off so I can get it to run on unleaded.Don't know cost of yet ,I'll let you know as I do.A Baily has some top end gasget sets at about £25 ,not genuin parts but has not had a complant to speak of.I Have orderd a set so I will let you all know in duecorse Cheers+Beers Jim---------------------- |

Gaskets and seals. Hi Jim,I have get gaskets seals and gasket paper from popy's old shop on ebay, they do a host of other stuff for all makes of older motors. Well worth a look. Doug. ---------------------- |

engine reasemble Hi all,I got my engine head back this week,with hardend valve seats and a scim.I had to get 2 smaller tapet screws,they cost £8 each.Inearly cryed.The reasembly is going slowly,but I will get there.Cheers+Beers,Jim---------------------- |

Hi Jim, Have you got her up and running yet?.Did you have the Cyl head done local to you or was it sent off to a specialist. How many valve seats were replaced and were the guides ok. I was quoted £25.00 per seat a couple of years ago and was wondering if the price has gone up and by how much. regards David. |

refurb head Hi David,I had all the seats done,The cost is the same as you said £25 per pot.I had the work done localy to me,so it saved postage.I had the head scimed as wellas it was running hot.it does start and run but I still have to set up the new electric fan.I will let you know how I get on again soon.Cheers+Beers Jim---------------------- |

Engine rebuild Hi all,the engine is now all in and woking fine.I have done afew small tripsand with the ford gearbox I do not seem to have lost any exselaration in 1&2 gears Ihave to change down a gear a bit more,I do live in North Wales so this is to be expected.I have not done any motorways yet so Ican't tell you about 5th gear and fuil econ yet.THats all for now,Cheers+Beers,Jim---------------------- |
