Jasons Landcruiser.

Hi to all,

All the parts we need now seem to be in Perthshire now so tomorrow should see the engine delivered to me and after that the plan is to go and have a look at the body it is to go into.
The engine I have on the bench is a 2.3L and the one that has came with all the other bits is a 1.8L, which is said to be in good nick but I think the plan will be to go with the 2.3L.
So tomorrow could be the start of getting this old Bedford project moving at last.

Jason's Landcruiser.

Hi to all,

Jason delivered the 1.8 engine this morning in the middle of storm Frank's wind and rain so it was a case of unhitching his trailer and taking a run out to the farm where his Bedford is being stored.
And it is sitting outside so I was amazed to find it was dry inside the camper on leaks other than where the engine should be, and a good body and chassis so something to work with.
So in the coming weeks I can get the parts I need striped and cleaned and transferred onto the 2.3 engine that is going in his Bedford and get things moving along and ready to drop into the engine bay.

Jason's Bedford.

Hi to all,

Having had a look over Jason's Bedford I was surprised to find it totally dry inside, more than I can say about my own Bedford in the last few weeks, hopefully by the time we get around to fitting the engine it will be under some kind of shelter.
There are boxes of bits inside in which I hope to find some bel-housing bolts, they seem to be missing and may still be in Ireland, as we drove to the farm to see the Bedford most of the farmers fields seemed to be flowing down the road.
Jason seems to be dedicated to getting this old Bedford back to a road worthy state once it is under its own steam with an MOT he says he will refit in inside in such a way as to transport his whole family.
But looking at it now that might be hard to believe, but when I think back to the state of my own Bedford six years ago when on one thought it was worth the effort!
