New Member Just wanted to introduce myself, Hi I am Edward I have just brought a MK1 CF autosleeper which has recently been on ebay. I race motorcycles with the British Historic Racing Club and its the perfect thing to get me too the meets and to sleep in overnight. It has no fittings in the back at all and I am going to have to workout how to maintain space for a motorbike and leave room for a bed etc. I don't need any advice yet! but I am sure I will | Tue 13 Sep 2016 @ 17:46

Thanks everyone for the comments, just about all of it is original as well, must have been well looked after and dry stored! I have seen pictures of what it would have looked like inside from som of the images on the forum and i hope to take it back to how it was on one side leaving the other for my bike. If anyone has a picture of the bench that would nave been behind the pasenger seat i would love to see some more details so i can make up a copy? Thanks again Edward | Wed 14 Sep 2016 @ 16:46

Hello. The model you have probably had 2 pole bunks for smaller people in the lift top so was sort of a 4 berth. Are you aware that both the front seats should fully recline and move forward to almost reach the dash as they make up the front section of 2 single beds when used with lockers which were behind them. I have a similar layout in my 83 autosleeper cx2000 so if you need a picture or 2 then pm me and I will find a seven year old to help me send then to you. Good looking van, I would get some locking wheel nuts on those alloys asap. They are rare as hens teeth. Andy | Thu 15 Sep 2016 @ 13:43

Hi Andy thanks for your post i had figured out that the seats recline and the move forward but what i cant work out is how the bench behind works. Some of the brochure pictures show a bench either side some show a seat? I throught maybe the bench folded up or slid accross to make a 3 and 4th seat like in the picture below? If you have time for a few pictures i would love to see them. Point noted on the wheels and i will do. Thanks for all your help! | Fri 16 Sep 2016 @ 18:40

Hope the above pictures help. Apologies for the layout but first try. I see you have the remains of the centre bracing on both sides. The sides are not very strong with just windows in. You might be able to bolt a lengthways bar from the front and rear door posts picking the centrep and then with some sunken floor fixing rings be able to the bike to whichever side you choose. This would avoid touching the new paint Andy | Sat 17 Sep 2016 @ 14:25

Thanks Andy for taking the time to do that it is a huge help! I think my plan is going to be to first add some insulation to the floor and sides both for sound and to keep warm. Then line the sides and the floor with ply and then recriate the seat / bench you have shown in the photo. That gives me my bed and then build a unit behind with a hob, sink ,cupboard. The floor i can cover in tough carpet and i can leave the other side free for bikes. I should be able to fit two in and some tools. The front wheel rolls into a chock which keep them upright then i just have to use one strap to make sure the stay there. I like the idea of the sunken floor fixings. Thanks again for all your help! | Sat 17 Sep 2016 @ 21:19

Hi Edward, Congratulations on your purchase. I've known of the van from one of the CF pages on facebook and have seen it on ebay too. It looks very nice. And you lucky bugger have some nice slot mags on it too It'll be perfect for taking to race meetings. I have a VW Beetle I drag race and am always up at Santa Pod not too far from you. Staying in our CF makes it so much more comfortable. Why don't you just get a towbar and a small bike trailer to tow rather than putting the bike inside? The engine should have enough power to move a loaded van with camping interior and a trailer. Frank | Tue 27 Sep 2016 @ 18:06
