Finally got it right.Hi to all,
The mixture on the tractor that is with it running long enough to get the settings adjusted, mechanical fuel working but not pushing through enough fuel so the SU electric pump has had to be used to keep up the flow and pressure up to the required level.
Most likely a worn lob on the camshaft is the problem due to age, 1950 was a long time ago and that is when it was new from the factory in Ipswich so no shame to it.
