Hi Guy’s & Girl’s,

Allan, good luck to the BG team on your Riverside walk.

Thanks Andy.

Shameless plug The walk, for real, is on the 4th May and we invite you to pop your arms deep into your pockets and help the lads on their way. Details can be found at http://bgriverside.freehostia.com/
where you will also find a sponsorship form that you can fill in and send to us - pretty please!
Yes, I am creeping but all in a very good cause - Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thank you all in advance.

Enjoy your Easter weekend everyone.

Hi All,
Tom I will get to the site Friday morning, so any time after Twelve is O.K.

If you are coming from the South I expect you would be using the A28, go through Canterbury and at Sturry take the A291 Herne Bay Road to the top of the Hill after the Farm Shop on the left take the next left Sweechgate to Broadoak the Pub and the Site is on the right. (Royal Oak)

If coming from the North take M2 to the Thanet Way A299 to the exit to Herne Bay / Canterbury A291 bear right to Canterbury / Sturry go down Calcott Hill (Bates Roofing Building in the dip on the right) up the hill the turning for Broad Oak is just after the bend not very well signposted to the right, if you get to the farm Shop on the left you missed the turn. Go back turn left into Sweechgate.

I will put up some signs with CF UK with a GREEN arrow to point you the right way.

Hope to see you all on Friday.
Andy & Maggie

Well, the weather forecast looks good for the weekend - not!

Auntie Beeb is forecasting 29 mph winds and heavy rain...

Still, it'll mean we get to know one anothers awnings

The snow plough's are standing by to get to us if conditions get a bit rough, but as long as we have Solar with us we will be safe as the Welsh can find a sheep in a 6ft. snow-drift.
Anyway the Pub's warm and a 30sec. walk away, also got a bus for a few outings/ sightseeing or where ever people would like to go.

Well we are back home after an absolutley brilliant weekend away in Andy's neck of the woods. We must say a very big thank you to Andy and Maggie for organising the weekend and for the excursions out and about. I think we had every type of weather thrown at us during the weekend, and yes we did have a barbe in the sleet and snow, (well you have to don't you).

Maggie & I would like to thank Solar John & Angie, Pete & Jan, Graham & Debbie, & Dee & Tina for braving the elements & supporting the Easter meet. It started well when I arrived at the site & got stuck in the mud! Soon sorted by Anthony (owner) & then I sat in the warmth of the bar & waited for people to arrive. Maggie took Angie & Jan to Canterbury while waiting for others to arrive, and they had a quick look round the Cathedral & shops.
On Saturday we had a trip out in the Age Concern minibus up to Herne Bay and round to Whitstable. We didn’t stop as the weather was not good, wet & cold, so back to the City & a guided tour round by Maggie for those hardy soles who left the pub. I think this was enjoyed by everyone.
Following tradition Solar did a Barbie, well he is a mad Welshman! Well-done John.
Pete & Jan & Dee & Tina had to leave Sunday morning.
It was snowing again on Sunday, so into the City for a trip to the Cathedral, where we saw the Archbishop doing his handshaking bit after the service, then a longer tour round this wonderful building, then guess what, back to the pub for a coffee again.
We finished of with a meal in the Royal Oak.
Thanks to those that attended.
Graham & Debbie have agreed to host Easter 2009 in Dorset, and I hope the weather will be a bit bl***y kinder to us than it was this year!!!

At least Solar John found romance in Canterbury. (don’t tell Angie)!!

Sorry, we made a no show. Unfortunately, but with the timing of Sarkosy's visit to your Queen, it wa not possible. I hate to interfer...

Actually, Paulette was obliged to stay with her Mother who can't be left alone. Paulette's sister, who was supposed to be on duty, lets us down at the last minute.

I'm really disapointed specially for this meeting which seems to have been a good time for everybody.

We apologize to all of you and hope to be there for the next opportunity.

Sorry I didn't turn up - the weather frightened me!

Seriously, it was so wet & windy (and snowy & Sleety) that we decided to give it a miss and stay at home, by the fire, eating Easter Eggs.

I hope that those who did brave the weather enjoyed themselves!
