I recommend coming to Malvern Showground for the 40th. Everyone makes you feel really welcome and the amount of CF knowledge you can acquire in a weekend is quite surprising. Weekend camping £6, fuel for the journey £40, two days of classic vehicles, barbecue, beer and banter - priceless!

Other than stripping the roof off and replacing the rusty screws and staples , you can put a temporary repair strip of roofers tape along all the edges and seams , 'wickes 'and BQ sell it in the builders section its a 2" wide roll of aluminium foil , backed by bitumen ,
clean the area and peel off the backing smooth it down , it helps to get in the nicks cranny's if you warm it with a hair dryer afterwards .
it can be removed if you want to later on !

Hello folks, just a word from the experienced, do NOT use silicone sealer for sealing anything on your motor home. Use a non hardening bedding sealant, available from most good caravan places. I have just spent the last year and half rebuilding my auto sleeper coachbuilt because some numpty put new roof lights in with silicone, whilst sticking at first, it does not actually adhere to fibre glass once gone off. Then, with a bit of jiggling about, water can flow very slowly but surely via capillary action between the surface and silicone. Before you know it the wooden frame is doing a good impression of the mary rose. sorry for lecture but thought you ought to know.

too late, already used silicone to repair the leaks. but i have used it before on caravans and never had a problem with it. also there is no fibreglass on my van its all aluminium so hopefully it will be ok.
