Beddie for WORK not for PLEASURE

G'day, Lance here, from north of Sydney. My first Beddie was a CA Motorhome. Travelled around Europe - 25,000 miles with no fuel gauge (anybody can do it if it is easy).
My current one is a 1976 CF TrayTop Truck, hence 'not for pleasure'. I have had the old girl for about 10 years and she is extensively modified. She started out as a Motorhome but was having just too much fun and had a life changing experience and personality change.
She is used to move furniture, hay, cars, tow trailers, going to the beach - anything.
Until recently, did a 900km return trip every weekend out to the bush for several years, working hard while out there: she is no blushing violet but has loads of character.
(Sorry, 'haven't worked out the pictures thingo yet) Her number plate OLD356.

Good for you. And I hope you have many more miles to come. There is a thread somewhere which tells you how to do the photos.

Welcome to the forum. These vans were designed to do a proper day's graft. Mine is not just a camper - I regularly transport heavy stuff and pull a dragon boat across the UK just to remind the van that it's not ready for retirement!

Hope you can post pics soon

I used to thrash the living wotnots out of my CF350 pick up every day. It used to clock 90 miles by lunch time having done 3 seperate runs, absolutely flat out and severely overloaded. Its sat here looking sad for a few years now but I cant get rid of it. Damn thing was just too good. It was both work and pleasure. I seriously hurt my right knee, forcing the accelerator pedal into the floor! I had to back away from a very slight hill it got stuck on (twice)to take another run. Full revs in 1st all the way and dont stop at the junction no matter who is coming! Fun fun fun. Got back to find it weighed 5 ton! Especially fun that time when the brake vacuum pump went!
My CF motorhome gets a lot more respect. That said I managed to keep pace with a guy in a volvo trying to race me. Well, up to about 30 mph any way, before he started to pull away. My CF480, sorry I mean 350! caught fire once. It only cost 70 quid to get fixed and it was back terrorising the streets again the next day. It finally died to the point its at now when a runaway forklift bent the cab. I think the forklift has since been scrapped!
Enjoy
Neil
