Astra Mk3 exhaust clamp
The clamp on the front box on my CF broke, trying to find a replacement clamp was hard. so out came the temporary wire coat hanger repair, pic below.
From a member of here I was told with a bit of modding you can get a clamp for a vauxhall astra mk3 tailpipe clamp to fit.
So on to ebay and for £3.87 and £1,94 P&P and 24 hours later here is my clamp.
as for the modding, a few gentle taps with a hammer to bend the bolt to a slight angle to get the nut and bolt on was all that was required.
Pic below shows both the old and the new in place, once I get a rubber that will fit I will take the old one of.
Jobs a good un.

Hi Spence. As I said, exactly what I did and I used a mounting rubber from the same car too. A bit short in length, but it fitted until I got a CF one from CES, which fitted no problem. Don't forget though to bend up the end of the lug that goes through the rubber once in place. Cheers, John.

Cheers Skoota, feel safer driving with a clamp on , rather than the coat hanger holding the weight.;]

I have old fashioned bed springs in a V formation ..i found out that the clamps that came with the exhaust kept burning out my exhaust runs quite hot for some reason & it burns baffles out on the standard exhaust , so i make up my own exhaust now , i have a Jaguar resinator box & rear silencer & it comes out of the side not the full length of the van ..the springs also alow movement ....the coat hanger is a very good quick fit permenent feature ,used that once while picking up our greyhound from Yorkshire & the exhaust split in half hadn't had the van long then ..we had to use several coathangers ,bacofoil & a couple of exhaust bandages & any wire including copper earth wire that came from an electrical house cable it looked like a fur ball but my springs refused to break ..my bed springs are just an up grade that works for me been on the van 2 year now
