Scrap yard.

Hi to Bedford people,

I have just been told that there is a Bedford CF in our local scrapyard, the message was on my phone about half an hour ago for one of my mate's.
So anyone in this area interested should nip along to Inveralmond Indust. est.
just off the A9 north of Perth.

Doug.

Bedford stuff.

Hi to all Bedford people,

Bedfords up here are like banana's they come in bunches, one in the scrapyard and one for sale just down the street, tomorrow I go to see a heap of unwanted spare parts in snow covered Blair-Atholl.
Spoiled for choice really, all I need now is the money to buy what I need to make my old Bedford a bit better, hmmm maybe I need a lot of money!

Doug.

Hi there,my daughter has just told us that there are 2 CF's in a breakers in Alperton, near Wembley,NW London. (it's the yard on Alperton lane, behind the old Vanguard building off the A40).
1 is a camper the other is an ice cream van. We don't know whether they are cf1,s or 2's but our son is going up tomorrow to have a look see.
But if you are in the area and need spares it may be worth having a look.
Cheers,Derek & Lyn

Hello Doug,
Take care, there's still plenty of snow left in the sky; the way the weather's been recently, I wouldn't be surprised if it snows over the weekend.

Hi Rae,

As long as he has the stuff he says he has I will be well pleased, as for the snow we have had plenty of the stuff this year to coupe with a little more.

Spares in London.

Hi there Lyndel,

Good to hear from you, let me know what your son finds at the scrapyard could be interesting, but probably pre 79 models of CF.
How is that gearbox doing, done another six since yours, hope all is well.

I hope so too Doug, it's always interesting people's description of the stuff they're trying to sell or, in this case, how much they've got. I hope it's not a wasted trip for you. Having said that it will be a nice drive and it's a lovely part of the world.

Bedford stuff.

Hi to all Bedford people,

Well I have spent the whole morning raking through an old railway engine shed,
once I had selected a pile of stuff I was interested in the price went up a fair bit.
But to be fair I have got my money's worth, and still left some stuff behind with an option to buy later, mainly panels.
I bought two radiators one I think is for a 1.8 CF, a gearbox, starter, alternator, steering rack, two exhaust front pipes, 12v coil, electronic distributor, brake servo and master cylinder, two sets of front brake shoes,
a centre dash panel, exhaust centre section, and something in a pair tree!
A total of £175.00 and sorted out a fault on the clutch of his tractor while I was there, he is a Massy Ferguson collector.

Doug.

Hi Doug, hope you got a discount for sorting out the clutch problem lol
The gearbox is going great, although we have only done a couple of hundred miles since fitting, and its a great feeling when the O/D kicks in!
Hope you can convince your other half to take to the road again this year and maybe we will be able to meet up at some stage or other.
Cheers,Derek & Lyn

Well done Doug, hope the weather stayed fine for you. It was a bit windy on this side of the Tay today but we're heading over to the bright lights of Perth and Dundee tonight for a bit of wild camping. We'll pop into Errol tomorrow then over to Perth in the afternoon.

An afternoon in Perth.

Hi Rae and Ann,

Bet you guy's can hardly wait Perth on a Sunday afternoon! "hay you two know how to live" if you pass along Dunkeld road you will see my old Bedford, "don't laugh" its not funny.
The guy with the spares is dropping off some of the big stuff that would not fit into my car in the afternoon, all I have to do is find some place to store it all "Mrs will have a fit" still its all good stuff.

Doug.

PANELS.

Hi Ed-Don,

The panels were a bonnet and a side door and the nearside cab door, a corner rear plastic bumper with brackets and a sunroof with fitting kit.

Hello Doug,
I think you must agree, Perth and Dundee have a lot more going for them than Kirkcaldy by the Sea. Mind you, we do have a truck stop, with a shower.;D

Shower of what.

Hi Rae,

Do you mean the shower of night ladies that knock on the truck cab doors around midnight.

Doug.

Hello Doug,
I don't think Fife Council's hospitality stretches that far; in most cases you'd be lucky if you get dry paper towels and a bar of soap.
