Windscreen Removal Hi all. How do I go about removing the screen from my beast without destroying the seal or breaking the glass?---------------------- |

Having removed a few screens in my time, there is no guarantee of success but this is how I've done it: lay a couple of layers of masking tape over the paintwork of the screen surround before using a wide blade filling knife to ease the rubber seal all the way round. You then need to put a string "tourniquet" around the seal. Cut enough strong string to go right round the seal, tying a small loop in the string at one end. Ease the string down into the seal with the filling knife until it sits in the inner groove next to the glass. Pass the end of the string through the loop, pull it tight and tie it off. Then carefully press the glass from inside. Pay particular attention to the corners as this is where the pinch points are going to be. Pray ! Re-fitting is the reversal of removal. Good luck ! |

![]() Cheers guys. Not to worried about the paint as the screen is being removed for a slight tinworm issue. Never had a screen out before so this is a learning curve for me. ---------------------- |
